Tug of War is genuinely ancient and genuinely global: Tang dynasty China staged rope-pulling contests with ropes over 100 meters long, and Cambodia's related tugging ritual, lbaeng teanh prot, was recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2015. It was even an official Olympic sport from 1900 to 1920. RivalPit's version keeps the head-to-head tug: tap Pull at the right moment to drag the rope to your side before your opponent drags it to theirs.
Mistimed taps waste your pull entirely โ a few well-timed taps beat a flurry of rushed ones that miss the centered marker.
Is Tug of War timing-based or does it require multiple teammates?
It's a head-to-head timing game: you tap Pull when the marker is centered to drag the rope your way, competing directly against a CPU or a friend rather than coordinating a full team of players.
Was Tug of War really an Olympic sport?
Yes. It was an official Summer Olympics event from 1900 through 1920, before being dropped along with several other sports as the program was trimmed down.
Do I need a rope or any equipment to play?
