๐Ÿ”ค About SOS

SOS is a classic pencil-and-paper game on RivalPit. Play online against friends, challenge the computer, or pass-and-play on one device.

How to Play

  1. Players take turns writing either an S or an O in any empty square of the grid.
  2. Complete the sequence S-O-S in a row, column, or diagonal and you score a point -- then go again.
  3. Keep placing letters, watching for chances to complete SOS while blocking your opponent's setups.
  4. Once the grid is full, whoever scored the most SOS sequences wins.

Sometimes placing a letter that blocks your opponent's setup is worth more than chasing your own SOS.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when I complete an SOS in the game SOS?

You score a point and immediately get another turn -- completing a sequence doesn't pass play to your opponent.

Is it better to chase my own SOS or block my opponent's?

Sometimes placing a letter that blocks your opponent's setup is worth more than chasing your own SOS -- watch the board for their near-complete sequences too.
