Air hockey is younger than it feels: it was invented around 1969 inside Brunswick Billiards, the American pool-table company, when engineers Phil Crossman and Bob Kenrick began experimenting with an air-cushioned surface before Bob Lemieux reshaped it into the slot-goal game we know today.
