How do you play Trade Winds?

Accepted Answer

Each turn you can buy and sell goods at your current port, then sail to a neighboring port. Sailing with the trade wind costs 1 travel point; sailing against it costs 2. Buy goods where they're cheap and sell where they're expensive to build your net worth.

How does the wind work?

Accepted Answer

Each round the wind blows either clockwise or counter-clockwise around the ring of ports. Sailing with it is cheap; sailing against it costs double. The wind can shift again at the start of the next round.

How does Trade Winds decide the winner?

Accepted Answer

After 8 rounds, each player's net worth -- gold plus the value of any unsold cargo at current port prices -- is tallied. Highest net worth wins.
