Rival City is a pass-and-play city-building duel for 2-4 players on RivalPit. Claim plots on a shared 7x7 city grid, build houses, shops, factories, and parks, and out-earn your rivals over 10 rounds.
Land value isn't flat across the grid -- plots near the center of the city are worth up to roughly 1.7x a normal plot, while the outer corners run as cheap as 0.6x, and that multiplier scales both what a building costs to place there and what it earns every round. Everyone starts with 40 gold, so the first couple of rounds are largely about deciding whether to grab cheap outer land early or save up for a prime central plot.
A Park earns no income itself, but boosts every House built next to it -- plan your layout, don't just build wherever's cheapest.
Clustering Shops and Factories together compounds their adjacency bonus, but a Factory next to your own Houses actively hurts their income -- decide early whether a plot is going to be your industrial corner or your residential one, and stick to it.
Is Rival City free to play?
Yes. Rival City is completely free to play in your browser at rivalpit.com/rivalcity/, no download, install, or account required.
How is Rival City different from RivalPit Tycoon?
RivalPit Tycoon is a Monopoly-style board game with dice and a fixed track. Rival City has no dice and no board -- it's a free-placement grid builder where you choose exactly where every building goes.
How many players can play Rival City?
Rival City supports 2 to 4 players in pass-and-play mode on one device.
Why do plots cost different amounts?
Every plot on the 7x7 grid has its own land value, roughly highest at the center and lowest at the corners. That value multiplies both what a building costs to place there and how much income it earns each round.
Do buildings interact with their neighbors?
Yes. Houses earn a bonus next to Parks but lose income next to Factories, while Shops and Factories both earn more when built near others of their own kind -- so where you place a building matters as much as which one you pick.
